Alice Cooper isn’t just the King of Shock Rock; he’s also made his mark in the world of cinema, bringing his larger-than-life persona to the silver screen! Let’s take a look at three films where Alice brought his unique energy to the screen:
Suck (2009): In this rock-and-roll vampire comedy, Alice plays the sinister bartender known as The Rock ‘n’ Roll Vampire. His chillingly charismatic performance fits perfectly with the film’s dark humor and gothic rock vibes. Fun fact: Alice’s daughter, Calico Cooper, also makes a cameo appearance as a waitress in the movie! The cast includes rock legends Iggy Pop, Moby, and Henry Rollins, as well as the brilliant Malcolm McDowell, making it a must-watch for music and movie fans alike.
Sextette (1977): This outrageous musical comedy stars Mae West and features Alice in a memorable cameo as a singing waiter. He performs the playful number “Next, Next,” adding his own eccentric flair to the glamorous chaos of the film. The movie is packed with stars, including Ringo Starr of The Beatles and Keith Moon of The Who, making it a dazzling showcase of Hollywood and rock royalty.
Roadie (1980): A rock ‘n’ roll adventure comedy that stars Meat Loaf as a roadie, this film features Alice playing himself in a high-energy concert scene. He performs Only Women Bleed and Pain, captivating the audience with his dramatic and emotional stage presence. Other musical legends like Blondie and Roy Orbison also make appearances, making this film a love letter to rock music.
... Alice appeared on the Muppet Show?
Alice Cooper appeared in Episode 307 of the Muppet Show in 1978. He performed "Welcome to My Nightmare", "School's Out" and also acted as an agent of the devil, who promised the Muppet's fabolous riches and worldwide fame in exchange for their souls. He also sang the song "You and Me" in duet with Miss Piggy. Alice was introduced by Kermit the frog, who described him as the most talented and frightering performer in the world.
Alice remembers:
"The Muppet Show was the biggest show in the world at this time. I found it was the funniest thing on TV. My manager, Shep Gordon, called me and said they would want me for the Muppet Show. We just spent all this time making sure I'm the scourge of rock 'n' roll. Can we do this? Then I asked 'Who was on the show recently?' And they said, 'Vincent Price, Christopher Lee.' I went, 'I'm in!"
He adds:
"I swear I never had so much fun in my life as that week that I worked with the Muppets."

In 2018, Alice Cooper plays King Herod in the (rock) musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. Alice and Sheryl founded the institution "Alice Cooper's Solid Rock Teen Centers" where teenagers aged 12-20 can receive free after school training in music, dance, photographie and art.
Additionally, professional training in sound/recording, staging/lighting, video production and more. Both centers are located in Arizona, USA...one in Phoenix, the other one in Mesa.
The idea is to provide teenagers with a safe social environment where they can express and discover their creativity, talents and passions.
"The Rock is the first of many teen centers in Arizona and, ultimately, around the country", says Alice.

King's books even help him come up with ideas for his stage character at times.
„I study the novel ‘Firestarter’ whenever I’m blocked. Reading the first few pages of ‘Firestarter’ helps to get me going.“
Alice Cooper is Goofy's uncle? In 2019 he lent his voice to the character Alistair Coop De Ville in a Disney series. We think the similarity is definitely recognizable.

"It's the character Alice Cooper who sings the songs on Road."
In "Rules of the Road" Alice predicts an early death for a young band. It is a satirical warning of this world. In the rock world you live outside the norm, outside the mainstream, outlaw or pirate.

"The song is about those drivers who never go home. When our tour is over they start with another band. They live in their cars on the road, almost as if they depend on it. A bit like being mesmerized by the white lines that border the road".
... Alice has a snake as a pet?
The snake that you often see around his neck during live performances is Alice's pet. He takes her everywhere with him and even paid for first class tickets so she could fly next to him because he didn't want her to be alone down in the fuselage.
... the nickname came about by accident?
Alice's nickname "Godfather of Shock Rock" came from an accident, with a chicken getting lost on the main stage and Alice throwing it into the crowd in a panic when he spotted it. The chicken didn't make it and the press quickly spread the rumor that Alice cut off the chicken's head and although this wasn't true, the band didn't deny the rumor. The "shock value" was to attract people.
... he is a convinced Christian?
Although he doesn't suggest it with his rocking creepy looks and macabre shows on stage, he is a devoted Christian as the son and grandson of pastors and was even a missionary in childhood years. When his music career took off, he drifted away from the Christian life and did not return to it until his alcohol addiction was conquered.
... the Coopers are on the gastronomic road?
Did you know that Alice operated a restaurant called Cooper's Town in Phoenix for nearly 20 years, opening it in 1998. Among other things, it featured a 22-inch-long sandwich called the "Big Unit." However, he had to give it up in 2017.
... Alice Cooper is a politics hater?
For many people, politics isn't exactly at the top of their hit list, but few seem to hate politics as much as Alice. In the past, he stated that he immediately leaves the room and does something else when someone starts talking about politics. He also has a clear opinion on "politics in music": "Politics has no place in music," Alice said.
