At the benefit event "Voices For Justice Rally Little Rock" on August 28, 2010 in Arkansas, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder performed the song "Society" together with Johnny, which comes from Vedders soundtrack to the film "Into The Wild". They also performed the song "Dancing Barefoot" together with Patti Smith.
The event was dedicated to three men who were wrongly accused of murder. This case, also known as the "West Memphis Three", attracted the attention of well known people and triggered a wave of solidarity.
Eddie and Johnny are good friends and have worked together on several music projects over the years. They first came into contact in the 1990s, Eddie as frontman of the legendary band Pearl Jam, Johnny as a rising Hollywood star. The two shared a passion for music and began playing together in their free time.
The first collaboration came in 1995 when Eddie invited Johnny to play guitar on the song "I'm One" for a tribute album of the band "The Who". They later came together again for the soundtrack of the 1998 film "Dead Man Walking", with Eddie on vocals and Johnny playing guitar. Since then, they have performed occasionally at charity events and share an interest in political activism.

Johnny Depp and Iggy Pop share a special bond based on their love of music. Their friendship began in 1980 when Johnny and his band “The Kids” opened for Iggy. In an unforgettable encounter, Iggy jokingly called the young musician Little Turd - a moment that Johnny still describes as one of the best of his life.
Over the years, Iggy remained an inspiration to Johnny, especially in his musical career with the Hollywood Vampires. The band, which Johnny co-founded with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry, celebrates the heritage of rock'n'roll, and Iggy's rebellious spirit certainly left its mark.
For Johnny, the collaboration with Iggy Pop on the 2011 song “Hollywood Affair” was a special moment. With Iggy's unmistakable voice and his own guitar playing, Johnny was able to show how deep Iggy's influence on his music runs. For him, it was more than a song - it was an honor to get creative with one of his biggest idols.

Iggy Pop:
"I never wanted to do anything other than express myself through music."
In 2016, Johnny and Iggy brought their friendship to the big screen when they attended the premiere of Jim Jarmusch's documentary *Gimme Danger* together. The movie highlights the story of Iggy and the Stooges, a band considered to be the pioneers of punk rock.
Johnny, a longtime fan himself, praised the film for its honesty and intimate portrayal of Iggy's life and influence on the music industry. It was a moment that not only celebrated Iggy's legacy, but also highlighted Johnny's deep appreciation for him.
Iggy once said, "I never wanted to do anything other than express myself through music."
He shares this passion with Johnny, who is not only a musician and actor, but also lives out his creativity in painting. For Johnny, art in all its forms is an expression of his soul - be it through music, film or painting. His versatile talents underline the fact that, like Iggy, he accepts no limits to his artistic freedom.

Duesenberg is a traditional company that has been producing unique instruments since 1986. Duesenberg and Johnny Depp have a long friendship and so it was obvious to develop an exclusive "Artist Alliance" guitar for Johnny. Made of fine American alder with sound chambers with the best sound quality. Everything to the last detail embodies Johnny, so are 1963 (his birth year) turns more on the coil of the pickup.
But the special thing about this guitar is that Duesenberg created an aluminum pickguard with Johnny's tattoos. Johnny Depp's tattoos tell the story of his life and with this instrument he can tell the stories that his life wrote in musical form.

Johnny Depp starred with Natalie Portman in the music video for Paul McCartney's song "My Valentine" in 2012. This song served as a tribute to his wife "Nancy Shevell". In the black-and-white video, Johnny and Natalie interpret the song's lyrics in their own form of sign language, while Johnny is also featured in a guitar solo.
A second part with sea shanties was released in 2013. Many great musicians were also involved in "Son of Rogues Gallery", such as Tom Waits, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, Shane MacGowan, Macy Gray, Courtney Love, Michael Stipe and Keith Richards.
This time Johnny Depp is also involved musically. He supports Patti Smith on the song "The Mermaid".
This song, also by Paul McCartney, comes from his 16th solo album "New", released in 2013. Johnny Depp appears there as a guest star in a behind-the-scenes video. Director Vincent Haycock conceived the official music video as a tribute to the beginnings of the relationship between John Lennon and McCartney.
Tonto's Giant Nuts, the project by Johnny Depp and Bruce Witkin that we have already written about, reappeared in 2013 on the compilation West of Memphis: Voices for Justice.
This album is inspired by "West of Memphis", a documentary film about West Memphis 3. Johnny is involved in two tracks. One is "Little Lion Man" a beautiful cover of a Mumford & Sons song and the other is Johnny reading a touching letter "Damien Echols Death Row Letter Year 16".
Background: Damian and two friends were wrongly convicted of three murders as teenagers. For years, the three fought for their rights and freedom. They received prominent support from Johnny Depp, among others. They were finally released in 2011 following an Alford plea.

The album "Lost on River - The New Basement Tapes" was released in 2014. For this project, a "supergroup" (Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddens, Taylor Goldsmith, Jim James and Marcus Mumford) came together to compose and record songs for some of Bob Dylan's lyrics that had been hidden from the public for a long time.
When it came to the song Kansas City, one of the musicians was prevented by another appointment. Johnny Depp stepped in and played electric guitar for this song. There is also a documentary about these lost songs in which Johnny appears.
In 2014, Johnny took on the cover story of the December/January issue of Details magazine, photographed by star and fashion photographer Mark Seliger and styled by Samantha McMillen.
In addition to the cover shoot and accompanying interview, Johnny also shot a short video clip in which he plays various exotic guitars, alternating between the melodies of passing streets and scenarios of his actions, underscored by the photographer's near and far play.
On October 23, 2016 Johnny Depp and Kris Kristofferson accompanied the 90-year-old Harry Dean Stanton on the song "Everybody's talkin'". Johnny had previously starred with Stanton in "The Man How Cried"
In 2017, Johnny appeared with Japanese actor and musician Masaharu Fukuyama in a commercial for Japanese beer brand Asahi. The commercial for the "Super Dry Beer" was aired only on Japanese television, as is often the case with advertising contracts abroad.
The two musicians can be seen on the roof of a building, while they fight a wild "guitar duel". Afterwards, they open a can of beer, toast and show mutual respect in a brotherly embrace. In between, a hawk and a soaring helicopter appear, underlining the untamed and somewhat dramatic charm of the video.
In a second clip from the ad campaign, Johnny is seen alone indulging his rock 'n roll nature and showing off his guitar skills at an airfield.
Marilyn Manson:
"The shots you will hear are from a mouth disguised as a gun. Don't call this art. This is a hard cock in a room full of vampires and the music, man. The music is my foul blood on your faces."
In the music video for the song "SAY10", also from the album "HEAVEN UPSIDE DOWN", Marilyn and Johnny once again star side by side.
In it, both are seen with spooky makeup, surrounded by half-naked women, while this scenario is interrupted by sexual and bloody scenes. This earned the director Bill Yukich a youth warning, as previously with "KILL4ME".
Manson and Depp portray the biblical brothers Cain (Marilyn) and Abel (Johnny). The video ends with Cain slaying Abel, drenched in the latter's blood.
Marilyn Manson:
"Some people might say 'Would you kill for me' is a question. It's more of a veiled threat than a question. It's an ultimatum, I think. I don't like songs asking questions in general."
In 2017, Johnny took on a role in one of Marilyn Manson's provocative music videos. "KKILL4ME" is from the album "HEAVEN UPSIDE DOWN", which is inspired by the new wave music of the 80s.
The two have been good friends for decades and have had quite a few performances together.
On October 8, 2019, Johnny performed together with Joe Perry and Steven Tyler at an Aerosmith concert in Las Vegas, where they played the Song "Deuces Are Wild", which dates back to 1975.
Aerosmith and Johnny had previously performed together on stage: This took place in Boston in 2014, where the band brought him on stage for their final encore and he even got to show off his guitar skills on the solo of "Train Kept A-Rollin".
